Types and Characteristics
of Linear Barriers
Linear barriers are proven safety systems available in various height options. Low-profile models (12 cm) effectively protect the lower sections of machines and shelving units. Medium-height models (30–60 cm) safeguard larger areas, while tall variants (110 cm) secure entire traffic zones. A key specification is the diameter of the steel pipe – the standard Ø60.3 mm is sufficient for most use cases, while Ø76.1 mm versions offer resistance to high-impact collisions.
The installation method directly affects the system’s durability. Bolt-down models are easy to install and modify, while concrete-embedded versions offer maximum stability, making them ideal for high-risk areas. Various segment lengths (30–240 cm) allow precise adjustment to any space configuration.
Our offering includes two primary finish options. Powder-coated steel in RAL 1003 yellow with black reflective tape ensures high visibility even in poor lighting conditions. Alternatively, galvanized finishes provide corrosion resistance, which is essential in humid or chemically aggressive environments.
Applications of Linear Barriers
Linear barriers are essential safety features in industrial and warehouse environments. They protect equipment from mechanical damage and help minimize the risk of costly repairs. In warehouses, they safeguard racks, machinery, and walls from collisions with forklifts. This efficient solution helps reduce operational downtime and financial losses.
Proper placement of barriers improves spatial organization and enhances safety. They define traffic lanes, facilitate vehicle movement, and reduce accident risks. In loading zones, where truck traffic is intense, they serve a crucial role. Yellow barriers with black reflective stripes assist drivers in accurately gauging maneuvering boundaries, thus reducing damage to vehicles and infrastructure.
Linear barriers are also effective in production facilities, where they shield workstations and machinery from accidental impacts by transport carts. Additionally, they are used in parking lots to mark traffic zones, protect walls, and guard structural columns.
Barrier selection should correspond to the operational conditions. In high-traffic areas with heavy vehicles, more robust models with thicker pipes (Ø76.1 mm) are recommended. Standard versions (Ø60.3 mm) are sufficient for lower-risk zones. A well-designed protection system not only enhances safety but also reduces infrastructure repair costs.
Mounting Linear Barriers to the Substrate
Proper installation of linear barriers begins with appropriate surface preparation. The concrete floor must be even, thoroughly cleaned, and free of cracks, as this ensures the overall stability of the structure. A minimum concrete grade of C20/25 is recommended for durable anchoring. A hammer drill with suitable masonry bits is required to create mounting holes.
For bolt-down models, precise hole drilling is critical. Expansion or chemical anchors – typically M10 or M12 – are used, spaced every 50–60 cm, providing secure and lasting anchorage. Embedded models must be set to a minimum depth of 30 cm in a concrete mix (1:2:3 – cement, sand, gravel). Full curing takes approximately 7 days, after which the system is ready for use.
When assembling longer protection lines, adjacent segments must be accurately aligned. Durable connectors are used at joints, and corner areas are reinforced with dedicated corner barriers. For uneven surfaces, spacers or adjustable anchors are employed. In high-humidity zones, galvanized elements and stainless anchors are necessary to ensure corrosion resistance and long-term durability.

How Much Do Linear Barriers Cost?
The cost of linear barriers primarily depends on their dimensions and technical specifications. Standard pipe models are more economical, while reinforced versions made from thicker pipes are more expensive. The total investment includes not only the barrier units but also installation expenses. Professional installation, transportation, and mounting accessories such as anchors and bolts contribute to the final cost. For large-scale projects, the overall price may significantly exceed the cost of the barriers alone.
Although the initial investment may seem substantial, linear barriers quickly pay for themselves. They protect infrastructure from damage, which lowers repair costs and minimizes downtime. Additionally, promotional offers and loyalty programs can yield financial benefits. Large orders may qualify for attractive discounts, and loyal customers can benefit from ongoing incentives.
