What Is Blade Wire?
Blade wire is an advanced perimeter security system that significantly surpasses standard protective solutions. It is made of galvanized or stainless steel, specially treated to resist corrosion. Characterized by a structure equipped with precisely positioned razor-sharp blades, this system offers a far superior level of protection compared to traditional barbed wire. It can be mounted directly onto fences or with the use of special dual-arm V-type brackets. The system is available in wire and flat strip configurations, ranging in length from 6 to 15 meters, allowing for flexible adaptation to various facility protection needs.
Our blade wire systems are ISO-certified and tested for their effectiveness in securing strategic infrastructure. Proper installation requires dedicated components, including specialized fence posts and “Y” or “V”-type brackets, which significantly enhance the barrier’s effectiveness. When choosing blade wire, close attention must be paid to its technical specifications, as they directly determine the system’s security performance. Coils with diameters ranging from 300 to 450 mm, combined with blades spaced 25–35 mm apart, form a highly effective deterrent against intrusion. The entire structure is based on a robust core wire with a diameter of 2.2–2.4 mm, complemented by blades measuring between 34 and 100 mm in length. This configuration provides an optimal balance between the system’s mass and protective capabilities.
The system features advanced anti-corrosion protection. The most effective is a zinc coating with a minimum thickness of 275 g/m². Acid-resistant steel is used in production, ensuring long-term durability in harsh atmospheric conditions. Additional galvanic coatings further extend the system’s operational life. The product is backed by a 10-year warranty against environmental exposure.
Three primary blade wire variants are available on the market: BTO-10 (light), BTO-22 (standard), and CBT-65 (reinforced). Each differs in technical parameters and intended use, yet all comply with rigorous PN-EN safety standards. These standards confirm their suitability for professional-grade security systems. The correct variant should be selected based on the specific nature of the protected facility and the required level of security.

The barrier can be installed as a single or multi-row configuration, with adjustable installation height. In these locations, fastening systems must be resistant to cutting and dismantling. High-strength steel is used, and all connecting elements are engineered so that disassembly requires specialized tools.
How does Blade Wire differ from Barbed Wire?
Blade wire differs from traditional barbed wire primarily in its design and protective effectiveness. Unlike conventional barbed wire, which consists of a metal core with regularly spaced barbs, blade wire is equipped with sharp, densely spaced blades resembling razors. As a result, it forms a much more difficult-to-breach barrier and offers a higher level of security.
Blade wire is also more resistant to cutting and mechanical damage due to the use of high-grade steel, often stainless or galvanized. This results in greater durability and lower maintenance requirements compared to standard barbed wire.
While the initial installation costs are higher, blade wire proves more cost-effective over time. However, its installation is subject to legal regulations and may require special permits and appropriate insurance coverage.
