Types of Parking Bollards
Parking bollards are available in several basic variants. They are selected based on installation conditions, the required level of protection, and the character of the space to be designated or restricted.
- Fixed concrete-mounted models are made from tubes with a diameter of 48.3 mm and a height of 150 cm, of which 110 cm protrudes above the surface. These steel traffic bollards effectively block unauthorized entry and serve as permanent markers indicating no-parking zones.
- Bolt-down bollards with a base are 110 cm high. Their installation does not require surface modification, allowing for quick setup or removal without construction work.
- Specialized variants include U-12c models, cast iron blocking bollards, and structures with larger diameters – 60.3 mm or 76.1 mm. Depending on requirements, we also use models with a height of 80 cm, particularly in areas with limited space.
Each of these types is made from galvanized steel, resistant to corrosion and weather conditions. They are powder-coated, and additional reflective elements improve visibility and contribute to traffic safety. As a result, bollards not only provide protection but also help delineate parking areas and organize space.
Applications of Parking Bollards
Parking bollards are an effective tool for controlling traffic and organizing space. They are installed near schools, pedestrian crossings, and playgrounds, where they physically separate pedestrian from vehicular traffic. Fixed vs. Retractable Parking Bollards
The choice between fixed and retractable bollards depends on the need for flexible access control. Fixed bollards are suitable for areas where permanent protection is required. They are resistant to mechanical damage, but once installed, they do not allow for temporary access. Retractable and tiltable parking bollards offer flexible access management. The tilting mechanism enables them to be lowered, and locks with keys restrict access to authorized users only. Retractable parking bollards allow specific parking spaces to be reserved without permanent obstruction.

In city centers, cast iron parking barriers are ideal for emphasizing the traditional character of the space. Conversely, in areas dominated by contemporary architecture, simple steel forms with a minimalist appearance are preferred. These are often complemented by additional components—barriers, chains, or bumpers. A practical solution is chain-linked parking bollards, which allow for quick separation of larger areas without the need for permanent barriers. A well-planned layout of all components helps organize space while enhancing both its appearance and functionality.
